Tablescape

I thought I outdid myself with our invitation. I am so wrong...

It is with great pride and honor (and lots of sweat and a few burns) that I present to y'all the mock-up of my best DIY project- our reception table centerpieces. I'm not going to apologize for calling this my best DIY project. I absolutely adore how it all came together.

The actual table is going to be much longer. We bought the table runner fabric, twigs and glass beads from Divisoria. Our neighbor willfully took care of cutting and sewing the table runners while my brother and his friends, aptly called Bornoc and friends, unwillfully painted the twigs :) It did take some coercion for them to do it but I'm still thankful..lol

Vases, wine glasses and teacups are from Uniwide Mall a.k.a Scary Mall (My boss who introduced me to this mall/warehouse coined the term. According to him he fears for his life everytime he goes there heheh) Black is not their original color. I got the idea of painting vases using spray paint from stylemepretty.com. Here's what it looks without the paint:
We'll use these wine-bottle-looking vases as table number and menu card holders. Here's a close up of the finished product:

and more pics of the black glasswares:

We bought the candle holders, candles and glass plates from SM Home World. I'm yet find out that there is such a thing as Scary Mall when we bought these items. It's the culprit behind the spill on our budget for centerpieces.

(Note: The actual plate is a glass plate with black and white damask print. I left it at Orj's place so I used our black plastic plates instead for the mock-up)

We went over the budget big time but I think it's still cheaper than hiring an event stylist. Much thanks to my boss who introduced me to the scary mall where I found all those vases, to my brother and his friends for helping me with the painting and to Orj for letting me buy all of those stuff even if he doesn't get it. :d

post script:

I want to blog about this too but I might not find the time since big day is just 4 days away..scroll down and find out who is so happy with her down-the-aisle get up....
